New Orleans Family Law Attorneys
At the experienced Metairie family law firm of Salley & Salley, Attorneys at Law LLC, we understand families — because we are one.
Sandra Salley founded the firm in 1989. Her daughter Laurel joined her in 1998 to create the mother-daughter law firm of Salley & Salley, Attorneys at Law LLC.
Our family dynamic helps us to truly understand the needs of our clients and their families. We have earned a strong reputation for positive results. Many of our clients come from referrals. Our commitment to our clients is apparent in every case we handle.
At Salley & Salley, the goal of our skilled legal team and support staff is to always address your legal needs in the most cost-effective, efficient manner possible. Whether we can resolve your legal matter through a negotiated settlement, or if court appearances are needed, we will provide you with facts and options that will enable you to make educated decisions about your case — and your future.
At Salley & Salley, We Understand Families — Because We Are One
We focus on a wide range of family law matters, including:
- Divorce — uncontested, contested, financially complex partitions and military divorce
- Child support, custody and visitation, child relocation, and paternity
- Spousal support and alimony
- Community property division
- Prenuptial and postnuptial agreements
- Name changes for adults and minors
- Grandparents' rights and stepparent adoptions
Salley & Salley also offers representation for Wills and successions.
We are among a small group of Louisiana law firms that offer attorneys who are Board-Certified Family Law Specialists, certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization. This certification is granted to a select number of attorneys who demonstrate a commitment to ethics, excellence and continued legal education. Sandra Salley has been a Board-Certified Family Law Specialist since January, 2000. Laurel Salley became a Board-Certified Family Law Specialist in January, 2004.
Individually, Sandra Salley and Laurel Salley have been recognized by Super Lawyers, as a Top Attorney in Louisiana. This honor includes only the top five percent of attorneys in Louisiana.
Sandra Salley has had several cases reported to the Louisiana Southern Second Reporter and are now used as case law references. For example, the Doran case is referenced in cases where the definition of reconciliation requires clarification, and the Bible case has been used when determining if a default judgment is proper.
Just two years out of law school, Laurel Salley took a case all the way to the Louisiana Supreme Court and won. The ruling in this case earned due process rights for clients in cases involving orders of protection. Today, that case is taught to family law attorneys throughout Louisiana.
We have devoted our careers to helping families. We can help yours too.
